I saw this at the charming Presidio Theater—what a cute and tiny little theater it is. Each screening room is like a private home theater.

I told my brother that Will Ferrell’s role in Stranger Than Fiction reminded me of Adam Sandler’s in Punch-Drunk Love—both represented an opportunity for a well-known comic actor to take on a more serious character, different than the types people know and enjoy them for.

I cultivated a fondness for foreign films and subtitles (they combine two loves in one activity—reading and cinema!) in college. Most weekdays there was one playing in the basement of the international dorm, and not having a tv, I was happy to make the trip down there.
